The Newest Swirl Syndicate Design!

The Swirl Syndicate site is back in action, after a (possibly, too-long) hiatus. I've streamlined my stock a bit, added a ton of stuff to the sale section and made the switch to using all 100% organic cotton shirts.

This is my newest design, made possible with the technical help of my very brilliant friend, Daniel Lievens.
"Soul and salsa. K-pop and klezmer. Bhangra and bluegrass. Whatever your little one's mix, it rings out in perfect harmony."

Thanks to Daniel and, of course, my husband (aka, #1 Computer Genius) for helping me get back on my feet. Now, don't let all their hard work go to waste...go shop!

Wantables — This book needs to be on my coffee table

Chronicle Books just released "Mixed — Portraits of Multiracial Kids" . There is such synchronicity between what author Kip Fulbeck has done and what I do with Swirl Syndicate that I kinda' wish he and I were Wonder Twins...form of "mixed kid gift basket!" (Actually, when Fulbeck debuted his "Part Asian - 100% Hapa" exhibit at L.A.'s Japanese American National Museum a few years ago, I was invited to sell my shirts in the museum gift shop in conjunction. Alas, that was to be the end of our liaison. I need to be more enterprising and try to sync myself up with him again!

The book is filled with pix of kids of every hue and background, as well as their own little handwritten intros and letters from their parents. My daughter doesn't see many kids who look like her in her daily life; this book could be a great visual reminder/inspiration for all three of us.

Yay! L.A.-based style wire, Mondette, included my humble little line in one of their to-the-minute fashion write-ups today. I feel so honored!

Wheeling and Dealing — The Swirl Syndicate Sale Begins

This is the first of (hopefully) many packages I'll be sending out in the mail in the coming days...

A fan of my Swirl Syndicate T-shirt line was quick to take advantage of the big clearance sale that started today.

From now until April 9, all shirts — featuring my designs celebrating kids with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds — are only $10. Yes, that includes the limited run of adult sizes, too!

When the sale is over, my webstore will be closed for a few months while I travel the world and find myself and whatnot. I'll be back in the summer with new Swirl stuff, though, so don't fret. In the meantime...get to scoopin'!
